Facelift in Atlanta, GA
People often form their first impression of us within seconds of seeing our faces. Unfortunately, as we age, elements such as gravity, sun exposure, stress, and more can have adverse effects on our face and cause our skin to sag and deep lines to form. We can lose volume from our cheeks, and our jawline can become slack. These changes can make us appear tired, cranky, less approachable, and also older than we feel.
If you do not recognize the face that is looking back at you from the mirror, Dr. Angelina Postoev with SurgiCare Arts & Aesthetics can help. She offers facelift surgery in Atlanta, Ga, that can erase many of the visible signs of aging from your face and give your complexion a smoother, younger, more refreshed appearance.

Schedule A ConsultationWhat Is A Facelift?
A facelift is also known as a rhytidectomy and is a surgery that is designed to reduce the visibility of the signs of aging on your face and neck. As we age, our skin begins to loosen up as the production of collagen and elastin slows down. Gravity starts taking a toll and causes the skin to sag, deep creases to form, and we lose the volume that makes us look youthful.
A facelift helps to correct these issues by tightening up the underlying facial muscles, eliminating any excess skin, and adjusting the remaining skin so it appears smoother and refreshed. Facelifts can be performed using different techniques depending on the extent of correction needed but most often target the cheeks, jawline, and neck.
Facelift And Neck Lift Surgery In Atlanta, GA | SurgiCare Arts & Aesthetics
Facial wrinkles, folds, and creases diminish your confidence. Crepe paper skin and sagging in the neck area often develop even before your face shows any signs of aging. A facelift and neck lift address these concerns so that you can feel more comfortable with the way you look.
Who Is A Candidate For A Facelift?
Candidates that desire a facelift should be in good health, non-smokers, be free from any medical condition that would make surgery dangerous, have a good understanding of what the surgery can and cannot do, have visible signs of aging on their face and neck, such as:
- Sagging or loose skin in the cheek area, the jawline, or neck;
- Deep lines or creases around the nose and mouth;
- A loss of volume from areas of your face that is making you look haggard and older than you feel;
- A double chin or “turkey neck” caused by loose excess skin or fat.
What Is Involved In The Liposuction Procedure?
Before your facelift, you will meet with Dr. Angelina to discuss the specific cosmetic concerns you have regarding your face and neck. She will also gather your medical history to ensure that the surgery will not pose any risks to your health. After examining your facial structure, the elasticity of your skin, and determining the extent of correction needed, she will create a personalized plan that will accomplish the best results. The steps of a facelift can vary depending on the type of facelift, the areas targeted for correction, and how much correction is needed.
Before your surgery begins, you will be given anesthesia to make sure your procedure is pain-free and you feel comfortable. Depending on your desires and Dr. Angelina’s recommendation, either general anesthesia or local anesthesia may be used.
Dr. Angelina will make a few carefully placed incisions, usually around the hairline and behind the ears, to hide any scarring. The exact location of the incisions will depend on the corrections that are being made and the muscles and tissues that she needs to access during your facelift.
She will then tighten the facial muscles beneath the skin, moving them if necessary to provide a foundation for a more youthful look. She may choose to perform liposuction in the neck area to remove any excess fat that has accumulated. The excess skin will be trimmed away, and the remaining skin will be pulled tighter and draped over the repositioned muscles and tissue.
Dr. Angelina will then close the incisions with tiny stitches or special surgical adhesive, taking care to mitigate scarring as much as possible.
Once the surgery is complete, you will be taken to a recovery area and monitored as you come out of the anesthesia. You will be observed for a short while, and then when Dr. Angelina gives the “all clear,” you are discharged into the care of a friend or family member who will drive you home to finish your recovery. You should plan to have someone stay with you for at least 24 hours after being released.
Recovery
Recovering from a facelift will be a bit different for each patient and will depend on their individual circumstances, the type of facelift performed, and how much correction was needed. It can take up to a full year for all the swelling to subside and for healing to be complete, but you will probably be the only one who will notice. Most patients recover enough within four to six weeks that they can resume their normal schedule, and their facial improvements are noticeable.
You will have a follow-up appointment about 24 hours after your surgery and then periodic check-ups spaced a few weeks apart so she can monitor your healing process. The first week after your facelift, you can expect swelling, bruising, and some mild discomfort, but Dr. Angelina will provide you with some medication that will help. You will also be given some directions to follow on how to care for your incisions and the activities you should avoid during the first month of your recovery. You will need to take some time off from work, and Dr. Angelina will advise you how much downtime you will need for your facelift surgery.
After about four weeks, you should be able to resume most of your daily activities but may need to wait another two to four weeks before doing any lifting or strenuous exercise. Results of your surgery should also be visible at this time, aside from a small amount of residual swelling.
Results
Unfortunately, it is impossible to stop the aging process, but with proper care, a consistent skincare routine, and a healthy lifestyle, the results of your facelift can last for around ten years. You should see a marked difference in your appearance and look years younger. Within a few weeks, you should notice a smoother and more defined jawline, fuller cheeks that no longer sag, a tighter neck without sagging skin, and a more refreshed, younger-looking appearance. It may take up to six months or a year to see your final results.

PRICELESS and an amazing Doctor and staff. The 1st time I came to Dr. A I was in need of some lip filler. I had gone through some unfortunate life situations and had a 2nd bout of Belles Palsy. My right side of my face, after being paralyzed, I never got full recovery of my facial muscles back. My lip, at one time were beautiful! After this, I basically had NO top lip on the right side of my face. I came to see Dr. A because one of my best friends told me about her! THANK THE LORD SHE DID! This lady has made me feel not just normal again but BEAUTIFUL! Dr. A herself is beautiful on the inside just like the outside. I get her to do my lips once a year and I enjoy lipstick and lip liner again! I could just huge her and her staff and I do EVERYTIME I see them.

Facelift FAQs
Is There Such A Thing As A Facelift For Men?
Yes! In fact, the New York Post and CNBC both have reported that more men are seeking cosmetic surgery these days. Year over year, men are adding to the statistics of injectables, dermal fillers, and plastic surgeries. It is not surprising that facelifts have seen a 29% increase among men in the last year alone. Men in the workplace begin feeling the pressure of trying to stay relevant to their younger co-workers and clients and have confided to their surgeons that they don’t want to be “the old guy” in the office.
Men experience the same signs of aging as women do but generally have more issues with loose skin and excess fat on the lower portion of their faces than their female counterparts. A facelift can restore a man’s self-confidence, providing a more youthful, approachable, and refreshed appearance.
Will A Facelift Remove All My Wrinkles?
A facelift is designed to eliminate loose, sagging skin, which will remove folds and some wrinkles, but you may need to combine other cosmetic procedures such as laser resurfacing, microneedling, Botox, or dermal fillers to achieve your desired look.
Is A Facelift Painful?
Most patients experience a bit of discomfort after their surgery, but this can often be managed with the pain medication Dr. Angelina prescribes.
Can A Facelift Be Combined With Other Procedures?
Yes, many patients choose to combine a facelift with other cosmetic surgeries such as blepharoplasty, a brow lift, or med spa services such as Botox or dermal fillers to repair lost volume to different areas of the face.
What Are The Risks Of A Facelift?
Any type of surgery carries risks and the potential for complications. Some risks of a facelift include:
- Adverse reaction to anesthesia;
- Swelling;
- Infection;
- Nerve injury;
- Poor wound healing;
- Loss of skin sensation or numbness;
- Skin tone issues.
